Best Film Bet: "The Nut" Tonight at Chautauqua

Chautauqua's silent film series presents Douglas Fairbanks' 1921 film, "The Nut," the story of wacky inventor Charlie Jackson, who tries to impress his girlfriend by wooing investors for her social projects. Live piano music guides this narrative, and Fairbanks, who also stars in the film, keeps audiences laughing with his dramatic balcony jumps and window entrances and exits. Mary Pickford and Charlie Chaplin have cameos. 7:30 p.m. Chautauqua Community House, 900 Baseline Road, Boulder 303-442-3282, $8
