Mark Udall Gets Committee Assignments

U.S. Senator Mark Udall has been appointed to two committees identical to two of those he most recently held in the House, according to The Washington Post. Udall, a Democrat who replaces retiring Wayne Allard, is slated to sit on the Armed Services and the Energy and Natural Resources committees. The appointments are subject to negotiations after the Republicans select their leadership. Meanwhile, Michael Bennet, the former Denver Public Schools superintendent selected by Governor Bill Ritter to replace Interior Secretary-nominee Ken Salazar, has some options left for committee assignments, judging by the list of openings.
