Coffee Biz: C.R.E.A.M.

Aside from the silly name--C.R.E.A.M. is an acronym for "coffee rules everything around me"--I really like this three-month-old coffeehouse. The upbeat shop, which took over the tired Java Creek location at Third Avenue and Columbine Street, pours locally based Coda Coffee and bakes their own pastries. Don't miss pairing a smooth latte with a bite-size cupcake (try the red velvet) or a thick-cut, iced sugar cookie. The spot also serves hefty breakfast burritos and flaky scones. 287 Columbine St., 303-377-8902
