Maddoff Scandal Hits Colorado

When Kevin Bacon's name came up as a potential victim in the Bernard Madoff scandal, it was only a matter of time before the degrees of separation narrowed in on Colorado. Indeed, Madoff, accused of running a $50 billion Ponzi scheme, managed funds for Boulder-based Agile Group, which told former U.S. Representative Tom Tancredo and KOA talk-show host Mike Rosen to anticipate heavy losses, as I noted earlier this week. Now add at least 70 other Colorado connections to the Madoff list, including Vail developer Peter Knobel, a former Miss World USA, and entities traced to the late folk singer John Denver, according to The Denver Post. Ritzy Aspen and the Roaring Fork Valley harbor nearly half the victims, but check out the list of Coloradans caught in the mess for yourself. The victims can take comfort that they are at least in interesting company that includes the Hollywood and literati set. Director Steven Spielberg, actor John Malkovich, talk show host Larry King, and author Elie Wiesel are all potential victims, too, writes The Washington Post.

When others are using class action to redistribute wealth in america leave it to Madoff to come up with a new way. Pretend it was a ponsi scheme. Transfer the money to your heirs and then take the heat and leave them rich. Ken Lay is another example.
