CU-Boulder Launches Underwater Hockey Club

The University of Colorado has established an underwater hockey club, a strange sport in which two teams of five players attempt to knock a puck across opposing ends of the bottom of a swimming pool, according to Boulder's Daily Camera, which confirms, with photos, that the sport is real, unlike the "very much mythical" underwater basket-weaving classes that are legend on campus. Players don fins, gloves, water-polo-like headgear and snorkels, then plunge to the bottom of the pool with small sticks, trying to hit the puck while not drowning.
