Our new favorite hangout is the five-month-old Buchi Café Cubano, a Cuban-style breakfast and lunch spot in Sunnyside. Located a couple blocks east of Gelman‘s, this friendly spot dishes up traditional Cuban eats like zesty salads and pressed sandwiches. Menu highlights include the citrusy avocado salad–gorgeously fanned across the plate–and the hearty Cuban sandwich, a classic combo of roast pork, ham, Swiss cheese, pickles, onions, and mustard. Bonus: Do not miss ordering a large café con leche. This glorious drink tastes as thick and sweet as melted coffee ice cream, only hot. 2651 W. 38th Ave., 303-458-1328
