Brad Van Pelt, the father of former Colorado State University standout (and former Denver Bronco) Bradlee Van Pelt, died of an apparent heat attack this week. He was 57. The elder Van Pelt played 14 seasons in the NFL, 11 of which came as a linebacker for the New York Giants. He was a five-time Pro-Bowler. His son Bradlee spent three seasons in the NFL, the last in 2006 as a member of the Houston Texans. The team released him the following year.
