Root Down's Blood Orange Mimosa

I considered myself lucky a couple Sundays ago after scoring a seat at a plush booth inside Root Down for brunch. There I was, in a restaurant where it's nearly impossible to get an evening table, watching the morning sun filter in through the windows and sipping a stellar blood orange mimosa. Root Down's winter twist on the brunch cocktail tastes like a combination of the grapefruit and traditional varieties, and a bottomless flute of the bubbly costs just $10. Owner Justin Cucci tells us to expect a signature cocktail like it every season. 1600 W. 33rd Ave., 303-993-4200
