The proposal had been immediately shot down in years past, but it finally passed a Senate committee recently. 3. State Senator Joyce Foster The Denver Democrat is earning a reputation as a savvy legislator who is willing to work with Republicans. A controversial pro-Israel resolution she sponsored won near-unanimous approval in the Senate. 4. State Representative Sal Pace Pace is already in the House Democratic leadership, serving as assistant majority caucus chair. His fellow legislators say the Pueblo Democrat is knowledgeable on the issues and legislative rules. Several Republicans also laud Pace's willingness to work across the aisle.
