Best Theater Bet: The Polish Book of Karma

Although you may have seen the work of award-winning playwright William Missouri Downs (in the '90s he wrote for My Two Dads and Fresh Prince of Bel Air), you've probably never had a chance to catch it live--or give him constructive feedback. But when the Paragon Theater company opens its 2009 series of play readings with Downs' The Polish Book of Karma--a comedy about a liberal, godless Harvard girl who returns to her devout Polish Catholic family the day the Pope arrives in town--you'll have a chance to do both. Mon, Mar. 9, 7 p.m., Crossroads Theater, 2590 Washington St. 303-832-0929, Free, official website
