Good Stuff: Marczyk's Open Late on Sundays
By March 17, 2009 10:39 AM
It's a scene that has been replayed on countless Sunday evenings: I'm en route to a friend's house for dinner, when I suddenly remember that I'm in charge of providing the bread--or that my wheel of brie isn't going to feed everyone.
But it's Sunday night. Where am I going to get a baguette or imported cheese? The Denver Bread Company
closes at 5 p.m. Park Hill's Spinelli's
at 3 p.m. Marczyk Fine Foods
at 6 p.m.
At least, that was the case until recently.
Marczyk's is now open until 8 p.m. every day of the week. One of the few independent markets to open on Sunday, and now the only to stay open long past sunset, Marczyk's solves the Sunday supper problem in more ways than one. Not only can I get Udi's and City Bakery breads, but I can also pick up roasted chickens, filling soups, and house-made baked goods.
