Best Family Bet: The Golden Goose at the Shwayder Theatre

With a name like Dummling, it's hard to imagine the main character of the Denver Children's Theatre's new play as anything but a dunce. But in this classic Brothers Grimm fairytale, which is performed by professional adult actors (despite the theater company's title), Dummling shows up his name and along the way wins a golden goose, the esteem of the fairies, and even a love of his own. Through May 3, Sun 1 p.m. Shwayder Theatre, 350 S. Dahlia St. 303-316-6360; $8, $9, official website
