Skills Like This Premieres Tonight

The StarzFilm Center hosts an L.A.-style premiere, when Skills Like This, the story of a pathetic playwright turned successful bank robber, opens tonight. Film director Monty Miranda (a grad of CU's film school) and producer Donna Dewey (a Denver-based, Academy Award-winning documentarian) are attending, and before the screening, local band The Wheel, whose languid rock tunes are featured on the movie soundtrack, performs. Post-show, the Film Society serves beer and apps (both included in the ticket price). It's hard to imagine a better homecoming for the South by Southwest-award-winning film. 7:30 p.m. Starz FilmCenter, 900 Auraria Pkwy., 303-595-3456 $25
