Nuggets' "Birdman" Gets His Kudos

The resurgent Chris Andersen, better known as "Birdman," finished ninth in the NBA's defensive-player-of-the-year voting yesterday. It doesn't sound all that great, but it is when considering that he was also the highest-ranking reserve and the second-highest center, behind Orlando's Dwight Howard (via The Denver Post). Andersen finished the regular season averaging 2.5 blocks per game, second to Howard's 2.9.
