Could Patrick Roy Return to the Avalanche?

patrick_roy_1999Back in the glory days, goalie Patrick Roy was one of the Colorado Avalanche's most-loved players. Now Roy, who recently met with club president Pierre Lacroix, could become the Avalanche's general manager, as implied in press reports about the meeting, including this story by The Associated Press. Team officials won't say what Lacroix discussed with Roy but have confirmed that a meeting took place last week. Causing some speculation over Roy, who retired in 2003 and coached his sons' team in the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League, is the firing of general manager Francois Giguere last month, following the Avs' 32-45-5 season. As for coach Tony Granato: The Avs haven't said his job is up for grabs.
