GOP Clamors for Colorado Comeback as Bennet Bags Big Bucks

Although it's unclear exactly what kind of opposition neophyte U.S. Senator Michael Bennet will face during next year's elections, it appears the Republican competition is getting its act together. That's according to The Washington Times, which reports that though former Governor Bill Owens and former Senator Wayne Allard are now out of the political picture, the two remain available to help the party plot a return to prominence in Colorado. "Being in the minority focuses the mind," Owens tells the Times. "It allows us to bring new people into the coalition and reminds us we have more in common with each other than we do with the Democrats." The GOP's next generation includes Weld County District Attorney Ken Buck and Aurora City Councilman Ryan Frazier, who both seek to challenge Bennet, a Democrat appointed by Governor Bill Ritter when Ken Salazar became Interior Department secretary. And watch Twitter, which might just replace the robocalls that have pervaded the last two elections, reports Politico. As for Bennet, he could be tough to beat. He's raising money quickly--most of it from out of state and in Denver, including "well-heeled associates from his past endeavors in politics and business," notes The Denver Post.

Ken has proven himself in Weld County as a man who is not afraid to defend Americans. He has a back bone that we need in the US Senate!! He will stand up and take on big government and give the control back to the people. Please send him to the US Senate - we need strong leaders to represent us. Go Ken!

I am a moderate Republican and to be quite honest my vote this election cycle would have been a toss up if the GOP had trot out their typical divide and conquer Republican. Thankfully I think all of the current GOP candidates break that mold, Ken Buck and Scot McInnis in particular seem to be able to appeal to all voters, not just the far right wing. If you have not had a chance yet go and check them out.

Ken Buck will do a great job of helping to return the GOP to prominence this election cycle. I had the chance to meet Ken on his statewide listening tour recently and was very impressed by his grasp of the issues and how they related to me and my family. I know Ken and his wife are both big tent Republicans that seek to unite our party, not divide it, which is exactly what it will take for us to win this election. Go Ken!

Strong, smart leaders like Josh Penry and Cory Gardner will help return the GOP to prominence in Colorado.

My vote will be for Ken Buck and its for many reasons. Most importantly is the fact that he will listen to other view points but make the choices that will best serve Colorado and the people. He is honest and forthright and I have had the privilege of listening to him speak on a variety of subjects while on his listening tour. He has the experience required and is a proven leader.
