This year, instead of fighting the heat at the annual Cherry Creek Arts Festival, head to Breckenridge for the town's yearly gathering of local and national artists. As a cool mountain breeze glides through the air, check out paintings, nature photography, ceramics, and even woodwork. Sure, the high country's artists may not be as avant-garde as those in the Denver show, but they provide a nice diversion from city life. Fri-Sun, July 3-5. 10 a.m.-6 p.m. Main Street Station and The Village at Breckenridge, South Main St. and Park Ave. 970-547-9326, free
