"The Last Days of Lehman" and CU Alum Dick Fuld

fuld-richardNow that the drama of the Lehman Brothers financial disaster is over, it's time to make some popcorn. "The Last Days of Lehman," a made-for-TV film rife with B-list actors, will show how Dick Fuld, a University of Colorado graduate, led Lehman Brothers into bankruptcy, causing a financial quake on Wall Street last year (via the New York Post). According to the Denver Business Journal, Lehman will be played by Corey Johnson, an American actor who has appeared in "United 93" and "The Bourne Ultimatum." The film will be produced by the BBC and will chronicle what happened on the weekend of September 12, 2008, when confidence in Lehman Brothers hit an all-time low and bank leaders were summoned to a nighttime meeting with Treasury Secretary Hank Paulson, who will be played by actor James Cromwell. The BBC writes that Fuld (pictured) was sidelined in the boardroom and spent a "weekend desperately trying to resuscitate his beloved company through a merger with Bank of America or UK-based Barclays." Last year, The Denver Post reported that Fuld maintained his ties with CU since getting his bachelor's degree in 1969. Leeds School of Business dean Dennis Ahlburg said at the time, "When you have the CEO and chairman as your graduate, that tends to make for a strong relationship."
