A Couple Places to Avoid If You're Worried About Swine Flu

If you have a sore throat and fever and live anywhere near the University of Colorado at Boulder---or at Denver for that matter---you might just have the swine flu. The number of confirmed or probable cases of the virus at the university have climbed to 96, and 100 more students have recently been to the university health center to complain of flu-like symptoms, according to The Denver Post. Moreover, CU spokesman Bronson Hilliard says campus health officials believe many more students are infected with the H1N1 flu. Dr. Ken Gershman, of the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment, says tests indicate the strain has arrived earlier than a typical flu in Colorado this year and is spreading: "We're just at the beginning of this wave of influenza." Denver has the most cases, but it seems there are pockets of infection everywhere. In Steamboat Springs, for example, three ill high school students were sent home on Friday, as officials issued a swine-flu warning to parents, reports the Steamboat Pilot & Today.
