Spring 2010: Y-3's "It" Factors for Denver

88921024JH009_Y_3_Runway_SpThe "It" Factor for Denver: Count on Y-3 to deliver well-cut jackets and pants every season. From blazers and short bicolor jackets to skinny, ankle-grazing pants or cropped, suspender trousers, Y-3's staples are effortless. The Gist of the Show: Yohji Yamamoto's continuing collaboration with sport giant Adidas is all about showcasing elegant, athletic-meets-fashion apparel, but next summer sees the line preparing for none other than the World Cup. Separates feature country patches and emblems, as well as a more conceptual series of mesh pieces---inspired by a soccer goal---rendered in cropped pants, T-shirts, and dress overlays. The netting looks particularly chic when worn as an underpinning---like a white mesh T-shirt beneath a beautiful, black cut-away jacket---or more urban when paired with rompers or leggings. And a series of ruffled, tank dresses are colorful and upbeat. Look for It Locally: Lawrence Covell (women's only), 225 Steele St., 303-320-1023.
