The Runway Fashions Milly Has in Store for Denver Next Spring

90581874BG001_Mercedes_BenzThe "It" Factor for Denver: Milly may have attracted legions of female fans for its terrific dresses, but for spring 2010, the line's 1960s-influenced jackets and outerwear, breezy skirts, and novelty blouses will add some ladylike pizazz to any wardrobe. The Gist of the Show: Designer Michelle Smith hits many of the seasonal trends this time around--short skirts, high-waisted shorts, minidresses, and sexy swimwear---but with a heavier hand than other contemporary collections. Her interesting and rather dramatic use of color---chartreuse with violet, pink with olive---as well as beading and oversized jewelry gives her line a more polished air, rather than a casual feel. Standouts include high-shine satin shorts and minidresses, bejeweled blouses, a fitted sheath with cutout back, and gold, embellished jackets. Look for It Locally: ALine, 5375 Landmark Place, 303-773-8200; Chelsea, 935 Pearl St., Boulder, 303-447-3760; Garbarini, 3003 E. Third Ave., 303-333-8686.
