Aurora City Councilman Ryan Frazier, a Republican running for U.S. Senate, tweets: "Hi everyone, I'm going to be making a big announcement this week. Stay tuned for more details." Frazier isn't likely to announce he's suddenly flush with cash and ready to take on former lieutenant governor Jane Norton in a primary. Rather, he's going to drop out of the increasingly less-crowded GOP race and challenge Congressman Ed Perlmutter in the state's Seventh Congressional District instead, reports The Denver Post. Frazier's move appears doable on paper: The Seventh includes suburbs and cities in Adams, Arapahoe, and Jefferson counties, with 120,172 Democrats, 94,698 unaffiliateds, and 89,736 Republicans. Ken Buck, the Weld County district attorney, remains in the Senate race but must overcome Norton, a fund-raising juggernaut who reaped $505,547 in the three-month period that ended September 30, writes The Greeley Tribune. The GOP's candidate will square off against one of two Dems--incumbent Michael Bennet or former Colorado House speaker Andrew Romanoff.
