Denver's New Swingers Club

Yes, that's right. Denver has a brand-new, above-the-board, shout-it-cuz-we're-proud, bonafide swingers club. And though owner Scottie Ewing digs the "controversy" -- and plenty of free press coverage -- that a swingers club brings, he also wants the Sugar House lounge to be taken seriously as an upscale lounge. So. First question. The club is full of beds, lounge chairs, and private suites that can be rented for the night for hotel-style parties. How much group sex are we talking about here? And who's responsible for washing/bleaching/sanitizing those couches? Turns out, the rules are: no sex. No nudity. Dirty dancing? You bet. Making out in dark corners? Okay. Drinking shots named for x-rated sex acts? Oh yeah. Making plans for post-bar shenanigans? Definitely. This place is more about meeting, greeting, and mingling with other hopeful "adventurous" couples than about literally getting (or going) down on the dance floor. They offer singles nights on Tuesdays and Fridays, couples nights on Wednesday and Saturday (Saturday being the swingers-only-please night) and a somewhat lonely retro music night on Thursdays that's all about lounge music and the "art of the cocktail" that was lost somewhere in the late '60s. As far as the upscale lounge aspect, it's located in a rather downscale corner of Denver (Alameda and Pecos), but the off the beaten path location gives it a certain air of mystery. The interior is cozy, with tan leather couches, the afore-mentioned beds (the mattresses are that un-bouncy foam stuff, ideal for balancing cocktail trays), votive candles, homey chandeliers and granite-topped tables. Upstairs, the five suites range from retro-mod to vintage four-poster traditional in style, with a room called "the pad" decked out with a pool table, full bar, and several additional seating areas. We'll see how the opening goes. A few soft-opening events will precede next week's official grand opening on Friday, August 24. The first night is an open house, with no reservations allowed for any suites or areas and no particular agenda, single, swinging, or otherwise; I'll be sure to join the looky-loos to see if the crowd is really what Ewing claims his club will attract: young professionals just looking for a little adventure.

Denver swingers club, Sugar House is the best

Sugar House is indeed a bona fide swingers club in Denver. Ever since they received their hotel license, patrons are now allowed to "swing" inside Sugar House if they have the urge. There is no sex or nudity allowed anywhere except the hotel rooms, which by the way are very clean and well-appointed.

What we love about Sugar House is that it doesn't make us feel like we're going into a seedy place as one would imagine a swingers club would be. It's just like any other nice nightclub, however on Saturday nights the Denver swinger scene is alive and well inside Sugar House with younger couples than you would see at other swinger clubs in Denver, probably due to the fact that it's not just a place for swingers in Denver to go have sex, but it also offers a nightclub atmosphere (and they even have great food).

If you're new to the swinger club scene in Denver or you've been around for awhile, you'll feel totally comfortable and not feel pressured into taking your clothes off. We love this place for good reason. Classy, not trashy. Disregard all the propaganda in the comments below obviously written by their competitors. The pics alone on their website will provide you with a great idea of how classy and beautiful it is, just like the people that go there on Saturday nights.

We think it is fairly obvious which of the Sugar house reviews are fake. We have been swingers in Denver for over 7 years now and have been to both Sugar House and Scarlet Ranch. We have had some great experiences at both. Both have their benefits and a few minor drawbacks and are completely different. We have tried Sugar House and do not go there for a variety of reasons. The place is all hype, no young or hip couples like stated. A mostly older, Hispanic male group of creepy guys. A poor part of town. No parking (non at all) Very expensive drinks. The people we met say they just sneak in their own alcohol. The owner is a very angry pimp. We do not believe there is anyplace in the lifestyle for a guy running prostitution. We were very happy to see the federal charges against him this year. The lifestyle community in Denver has long waited for this guy to be sent to jail. J

The good news is that Scottie Ewing, the owner of Sugar House was just charged in federal court and is currently out on bond. Thought we would add our 2 cents. Just got home from an amazing night at Scarlet Ranch, and as my girlfriend and I were leaving to head home, some skanky chick was handing us a flyer and telling us to go to Sugar House. It occurred to us what a shit hole the Sugar House must still be to try to market to the people leaving the popular club. I mean really.... hang out in front of the cool club and try to get the people to go to the whore house? Really? Buy a whore and get a free beer? Does that come with a free STD as well? Sugar House is on the never to do list. What an idiot.

So a few things to touch base on: Yes, the drinks are expensive, but not really much more than any other club in Denver. They offered a lifetime VIP status that was supposed to get you in free for life, that has since become a "get in for 50%" thing. You are allowed access to private suites. The crowd is always a younger crowd. On a Saturday we have NEVER seen less then 100 people there. I just read the website and it does not say single men are not allowed. Even with that being the case, we have never seen a large local Hispanic crowd as others have suggested and we have NEVER seen a "bunch of single males standing around masturbating" or guy on guy sex. We have never seen or been solicited by a prostitute nor has anyone tried to sell us drugs. Finally, what is with all the comments about no parking. They offer Valet parking for something like $2 or there is just as much street parking as there is on Broadway. The fighting and bickering is lame and it is time to move on. We like Sugar House, sure there are some faults, but there are with any club. Check it out for yourself and make an opinion

It's pretty obvious the attacks against Sugar House Denver swinger club are from it's rival club...So when is the owner of the rival club going to realize that every time he posts ANYTHING on this REALLY old story, it does nothing but help Sugar House Swingers club because it keeps this story visible on google? It's apparent the owner of the other club is an angry, clueless fool who does not understand how the internet works...or business for that matter. You're making you and your illegal club look bad.

What an odd thread. We tried going to Sugar House and it is just not our kind of place. We don't really care if the owner is a pimp, drug dealer or all around sleazy character. We make our own choices of the people we let around us. We met Scottie Ewing when he had the whore house at 240 S Broadway. He was always trying to pretend he was the party king of Denver. To us, he was just a sleazy pimp. We don't need to pay girls to pretend to like us. We also are happy to see the federal charges against Scottie Ewing. His last felony arrest (case #200362552) for biting the ear of the husband of one of his whores he got away from. This time he should not be so lucky. Sugar House is all but dead. Maybe was an OK concept, but it is in the middle of the projects in Denver and never really got off the ground. The owner continues to attact the large swingers clubs in town, but never even got close to creating a venue worth the breath. I suppose his career as a pimp in Denver did not prepare him for running the place. There is plenty of hype and fake reviews, so I would agree with a few other reviews on here and would suggest you pay a visit to any or all venues and you will see what I am talking about. See you in the mix :)

Apparently the Denver swingers club Sugar House which has been pretty much just a nightclub for swingers since it opened two years ago now has a full-on hotel and lodging license...which means Sugar House is a finally a true swingers club, allowing it's swinging patrons to indulge in their own private room if they feel the urge. This certainly is a game changer in the Denver swinger club scene.

have you heard about the hottest new club in Los Cabos, aka Cabo San Lucas Mexico? Its always warm and sunny? Incredible digs great people standard swingers clubs rules. But upscale loads of fun people. You can come just to the parties while in town or stay right at the mansion. The beach is incredible, the yacht parties are great. We went to Sugar House last night 11/13/09 and it was very empty. As we were getting ready to leave, a large group of police came in and the 5 or so couples scrambled to find the door. Uh, is there a moderator for this forum? I have been to Sugar House and the place is fine. If 5280 wants to provide any useful info for the public you should delete the obvious slash and burn fake reviews, cloaked competitor adds, and the owners review while you're at it. So, I was looking for a write up to send to an out of town friend- thanks for absolutely nothing 5280. (By the way, the "Cindy & Ray" comment is fake, the text is copied from Insiderpages under the name Julie Z. who only left one review, extremely unusual for Insiderpages members. Whats the point?) We went to Scarlet Ranch this month while in Denver and loved the place! We saw their reviews on SDC and come to Denver from Europe twice a year or so. The people at Scarlet Ranch have done it right. The busiest, sexiest swingers club we have ever been to!

Sugar House is nothing but a joke. They now let their burger customers rent a small room to f**k in for $50.00/hr. If you want to go to the projects and f**k in a sleazy adult hotel while eating their crappy food, then it may just be for you. Warning - - - there is no parking and you have to park in a vacant lot way in the back and all cars get broken into there every time. The place is run by a pimp.

Any "review" where there is no tracking of who really wrote it is pretty much worthless. People love to "hide" online and say all sorts of things. When I want to check out a place, I get off my butt, leave the computer and actually go there. If it sucks, I leave. For a swingers club, I will never pay a cover before checking them out. Any decent club will allow you to do that. I have been in Denver for quite a while now. Generally, the more a club hypes itself, the more it sucks. And yes, I have an opinion about all of the stuff written above, but I will keep that to myself.

We went at the recommendation of a few reviews we found online, this site being one of them. We were pretty disappointed with a few things. 1. It was a Saturday night and not very busy, about 6 couples. 2. There were at least 8 single guys even though their website says they do not let single guys in on Saturday nights. 3. The crowd is MUCH older than these reviews state. We are early 30's, every else was 50 plus. 4. We're pretty open minded, however there was a fair amount of guy-on-guy sex happening upstairs. Not really the type of swingers we're looking for. The place looks nice in side, fairly clean, but the combination of the above issues along with the fact that it's drinks are VERY expensive will keep us from going again.

We tried Sugar House and it is not a swingers club, but is a pretty empty bar. We recommend checking out Scarlet Ranch.....What a great club! We live in NY and only get to Colorado every other month or so and always make sure we can spend a few nights at Scarlet Ranch. It is located downtown so it is easy for us to catch a great dinner then hit the club. The club is in a building that is easy to miss and looks like an underground club, but once you enter you will never look at swingers clubs the same again. It is simply amazing. The front half has large dance floor, always top shelf DJ's, pool tables and a voyeur shower facing the stages. The back half is like a tropical holiday with beautiful leather furniture, large play areas and private rooms. There is also a hot tub, although we have not used that yet. The best part about Scarlet Ranch would be the members. We always meet great people there! The staff and owners are the best and always take care of you. Unlike other places, Scarlet Ranch is couples and a few single women and we have never had any problems there. Most of the people we see there seem to be in their 30's and well educated. Most Saturday's there are at least a few hundred people. Friday's you may only have 100 or so. If you like crowds, their theme parties are crazy and you will find yourself in the middle of 300 to 400. We would recommend it to anyone anytime. The $100.00 you pay for the cover is the best money you will ever spend. Jules & Robert

The only real swingers club in Denver is the Scarlet Ranch on Broadway. They have been around for almost 10 years and is very popular within the swinger community. Bars or hamburger stands are not swingers club.

We wrote an earlier review after the owner asked us to since we knew him for a while. Well.....we went for the first time this past Saturday and it is nothing like we were told. Club is CRAP, but we were told there are no single men on Saturdays. Not the case. When we went last weekend there were plenty and it was REAL creepy. Upstairs, where the people have sex , there were guys peeking into the rooms jerking off while watching others have sex. It felt sleezy to us. So we went downstairs where the bar and dance floor is and and a guy would not stop following me until my husband told him to back off. Not our cup of tea, unless your into the single guy thing. Crowd is late-50’s and older. It's also expensive.

Denver colorado swingers club for oldies We read several reviews AND called ahead of time to be sure the crowd is as young as these reviews report and their website reports. We are both 35, not young but not old. We're both fit and attractive. We spent $20.oo to get in, and a ton on overpriced drinks and were extremely disappointed in not only the age of the crowd (late 50's and older...everyone!), but there were only 15 couples there at most, and many single men. The girl on the phone said they were busy and the crowd was great, which is why we went that evening. We spoke to the person behind the bar and they told us it was still a little early (11pm) so we stuck around. By 12:30am it was still empty. No young Denver swingers, no big crowds like the girl on the phone said. Then we asked for our money back and they said we had been there too long! This is AFTER the person at the bar told us to hang out and wait until it got busy! Well, it never did. For a Denver Colorado swingers club that brags how busy and how young the crowd is, we are NOT impressed. We felt scammed and will never return or never recommend sugar house to anyone. We were ripped off and lied to by the people that run this place. If you're looking for a Denver swingers club and UNDER 40, you're waaaay too young for Sugar House, and if you're over 40, you won't have much company because the place was empty on a so called busy night according to their own staff.

Denver has had two swingers clubs for years; Scarlet Ranch and The Retreat. Both are real swingers clubs, not bars. My wife and I suggest checking out Scarlet Ranch on Broadway in downtown Denver. Just do an internet search, you will find it.

Each time we have tried the place on a Saturday night there are only 10 to 20 people. It is also not a swingers club. It is a bar that is open to the public. No nudity and no sex. Very disappointed.

Tried the place this past weekend. A good place for the Hispanic community, but we felt very uncomfortable. Mostly an older, male group. No parking and in a poor neighborhood. The pictures are VERY misleading. Never again.

Pretty much closed. The place sells hamburgers to the hispanic crowd during the day, but any sort of club activity is dead. Do not waist your time and money. SE

Denver Colorado swingers club Sugar House caters to young couples and is busy almost every weekend (busy meaning over 150 people). Sugar House Denver swinger clubs' special events draw up to 400 young Denver swingers. We are regulars and have been in the Denver swinger club scene for about 5 years now. If you go check out the Sugar House Denver Colorado swingers website on the "tour" page you will see the young crowd it attracts, and how busy it is. The negative comments above are likely written by the owner of another club which is strugglinig at best.

Sugar House is all but closed. We are not part of any group, but have tried to attend many nights over the past year and it is almost always empty. We even attended a night when they tried to go for the gay crowd. If you are a real couple looking for a real swingers clubs, don't bother here. Better yet, take a few hours at the beginning of the evening and check out the several choices you have in Denver and choose for yourself. Sugar House is nothing that it advertises and is just a bunch of hype from the guy that brought you the escort companies of Denver Sugar and Denver Players. If you want that....then maybe it is a place for you.

Denver swinger clubs in Colorado like Sugar House is exactly what the denver Colorado swingers club scene needs. Unlike other Denver swing clubs Sugar House is clean, classy, fun, and caters to a younger crowd. It's a nightclub setting so there is no pressure and the only completely legal Denver Colorado swingers club. If you're a younger couple, attractive, and classy there really is no other choice.

Sugar House is a joke. The reviews are fake and posted by the owner. It is a skanky place with decent furnture. Always empty and only a place if you want to have sex with hookers upstairs. It is only a matter of time before the city shuts it down again. We went their when they started selling burgers and that was even worse. There are a couple of real clubs in Denver and Sugar House should take a look at how a real club works.

The negative reviews here are obviously fake and posted by a Sugar House competitor. We go to Sugar House about twice a month and its never slow and keeps getting better. Young Denver swingers seem to flock to Sugar House probably due to the nightclub environment. We've been to the other swingers clubs in Denver and none of them attract a young crowd like Sugar House. The other Swingers club in Denver cater more toward the older couples, so now we only go to Sugar House swingers club in Denver. Whoever is writing the false remarks about Sugar House is either an older couple or the owners or managers of the other swingers club. Anyhow, if you haven't been to Sugar House swingers club in Denver and you're a younger couple, you're missing out. It's a fantastic club. We have nothing bad to say about it and it's the only place we recommend to anyone hot :-)

This Denver swingers club cannot be beat for the type of crowd it pulls. Always classy, well dressed and fun couples. If you're a younger couple curious about the Denver Colorado swingers scene Sugar House is the only place to go. We love Sugar House!

Not a good place at all. Surprised it is still open since it is always empty. The word on the street is the owner, Scottie Ewing is still running escorts to pay the bills. He use to own Denver Sugar and Denver Players, the prostitution shops in town the feds shut down this year. The above reviews seem to be for promotional reasons.....maybe by the owner?

Sugar House in Denver has accomplished the task of creating a very classy and fun place for couples to go on Saturday nights. We've also been there on non-swingers nights like Friday nights and for their wine tasting events and absolutley love this place. They have done everything right from the decor, wine and cocktail menu, and pleasant staff. Thanks!

We were very pleasantly surprised at how classy Sugar House in Denver is. The crowd is by far more sophisticated and attractive than any other "swinger" clubs we've been to in Denver. Friday's are actually more of a regular vanilla crowd but great to pick up on unsuspecting single girls. Saturday nights are full of couples out to meet and have a great night out with the potential of some extra benefits. We're now pretty much regulars of Sugar House. Great club.

We've been to the Denver swingers club Sugar House about 10 times now and it keeps getting better and better each time. The crowd is much younger than most other denver swinger clubs in Colorado averaging at around early 30's. Sugar House in Denver has done such a great job of bringing youth and class to the denver swinger scene.
