The long-awaited Kaos Pizzeria finally opened last week. This takeout-delivery spot sits in the tiny space (around 400 square feet) that used to house Nosh on South Pearl Street. Hit the eatery on a sunny day and enjoy the wood-fired artisanal pies in the secret garden of a courtyard.

Stop by for pizzas that range from classic (margarita) to seasonal (pumpkin butter, figs, mascarpone) to gourmet (olive oil, garlic, tomatoes, white anchovies, mozzarella, and provolone). I’m willing to bet the soprasata—with rounds of Italian salami, paper-thin potatoes, pesto, provolone, and a fresh cracked egg—quickly becomes a house favorite. Cut the pizza and let the yolk act as a silky, heavenly sauce. Sure it’s rich, but it’s good.

The menu also lists creative paninis, pastas, and salads, but thus far we’ve been too distracted by the pizzas to venture much further.
