New Year's Resolutions: Learn a Language

Despite two years of Spanish in high school and four semesters of it in college, I've forgotten so much that I can barely conjugate simple verbs. I'm reminded of this every time I am a guest teacher with Spanish-speaking students and giggles burst from the back of the classroom. This year I'd like to finally get a handle on stringing simple sentences together, and Colorado Free University offers five-week classes for just $114 (for non-members), which cover a range of abilities. I'm looking at the beginner course, but there are accelerated classes as well as a course called "Spanish for Travelers." Looking to learn different languages? CFU also offers beginning courses in French, Russian, German, Japanese, and Italian. Classes range from four to six weeks and cost from $86 to $110 for non-members.
