FBI Arrests Two Men Linked to Najibullah Zazi

Two young men from Queens, New York, allegedly traveled to Pakistan in 2008 with Najibullah Zazi, the Aurora airport-shuttle driver arrested last year in an ongoing, high-profile terror probe of al-Qaida. Adis Medunjanin, 25, and Zarein Ahmedzay, 24,were arrested early this morning, according to the FBI (via The New York Times). The charges against both of the men, who attended Flushing High School in Queens with Zazi, are so far unavailable. They are expected to be arraigned in the same federal court in Brooklyn, New York, as Zazi, who has pleaded not guilty. Medunjanin's attorney, Robert Gottlieb, says a federal search warrant indicated his client's passport was sought as part of an investigation into a conspiracy to use weapons of mass destruction, reports the New York Daily News. The men had been under surveillance for months, an unnamed source tells The Wall Street Journal. Mejunjanin was arrested after crashing his car on the Whitestone Bridge in Queens and fleeing the scene; Ahmedzay was picked up while driving a cab in Manhattan.
