Officer Under the Influence

It's unclear how many drunks Trooper David Dolan has arrested in his 21 years with the Colorado State Patrol, but the tables turned recently as Dolan himself was pulled over on C-470 at Santa Fe Drive after a Douglas County deputy spotted his cruiser wobbling through traffic. 9News quotes State Patrol Colonel James Wolfinbarger saying he is "devastated" at "seeing a member of our organization escorted in handcuffs into a car." Dolan was taken into custody for investigation of driving under the influence of alcohol. Wolfinbarger says an internal investigation has been launched, and Dolan, also facing a charge for carrying a firearm while intoxicated, was placed on leave (via The Associated Press). Drivers called 911 to report the erratic movements of the patrol car, and sheriff's dispatchers transferred the calls to the State Patrol. The patrol then asked the Sheriff's Department for help locating the car and checking on the driver.
