New Experimental Draft Release: Oskar Blues’ Pond Scum ESB

I thought I knew about all the beers produced by Oskar Blues Brewery, but I was pleasantly surprised during a recent trip to find a new, experimental brew in the lineup: Pond Scum ESB. Despite the irreverence of Oskar Blues’ general atmosphere, I couldn't refrain from chuckling when I ordered a pint of Pond Scum. But this brew is no laughing matter. It’s got a light hoppiness, but my attention was mostly drawn to the yeast, which imparts a brilliant, just-out-of-the-oven bread-like flavor. Even better, it finishes clean and light, nothing like its namesake. Pond Scum will be available for the next month, on draft at Oskar Blues' Lyons and Longmont locations.
