Frontier Airlines' Award-Winning Spokesanimals

Republic Airways' decision to maintain the Frontier brand, including its tail-fin animals, after purchasing the airline is paying off in the awards category. The advertising spots featuring spokesanimals such as "Flip" the dolphin and "Grizwald" the bear have won a prestigious gold Effie Award in the category of "sustained success," writes the Denver Business Journal. "This is such an amazing achievement for Frontier," says Ian Arthur, vice president of marketing and branding for Frontier parent Republic Airways, adding that the competition for the honor was stiff, with campaigns such as "Got Milk?" and another for Orbitz gum. The Grey New York agency is recognized in the award for its work on the Frontier campaign. MillerCoors also took a gold Effie in the beverages-alcohol category for its "1 second" ad campaign.
