Local Ideas for Ending the Oil Disaster

As President Barack Obama emerged from a meeting with top BP officials yesterday to announce that the company would set aside an initial $20 billion for the victims of the ongoing oil spill (via CBS News), some Coloradans expressed their own thoughts for plugging the gusher. Richard Stover, a retired engineer, says his idea is akin to "putting a cork in a bottle of sparkling wine" or "trying to put your finger in the garden hose." His solution involves a 1,000-pound hunk of concrete or metal that would be lowered nearly one mile undersea to the site of the spout, writes Grand Junction's Daily Sentinel, which provides a handy illustration of Stover's plan. Another possible solution comes from Spill Fighters in Golden, a Colorado company led by Brent Tuttle, who believes the secret to cleaning up the gulf lies in using "oil-eating microbes" (via the Examiner).

The government is supposedly working on a SMALLER DOME/CAP: I HAVE AN IDEA !!! PLEASE READ AND CONSIDER: *if the smaller dome is in fact being built and going to be attempted, please consider "Drilling a hole in the center- ( NO larger than the sypin that is Currently in place, and Further, SHOULD remain in place ) upon the exact measuring/drilling of the hole in the center of the Dome, *** The Dome Should be :#1: Inverted - #2: once upside down, should be lowered Onto the sypin that is in place, # and #3: then lowered down to the bottom to "block off the excess crude that is currently flowing aroundd the sypin, by Acting as A stopper/sinker- whatever you want to call it. *** This could work and would Be a "cast" rather than bandage... Giving time. Time to find a permanent solution. If done correctly- "This should provide Years of Time. It may as well: Stop The disaster, "once the oil is shot up via Inverted-Dome-Sypin- WE CAN salvage it AS WELL as save the ocean from further damage. The Markets cooperation from more countries/civil rest. As the Crude makes it's way to the surface- it Can be gathered IN ENTIRTEY, be transported to plants to be processed into Oil - Thereby Providing BP with more assets to help clean up the mess they helped create, that they have sworn to provide an answer to. It may even Create some Jobs. On a last note: if this idea "does get read by someone WHO knows if it's an option: Please note that THIS IDEA MAY BE A "REAL way to RE-DRILL this area by default. As in once it's Inverted Blocked, Inch wide Sypined, @it may be suitable to insert drill rods. * This last part I'm still thinking about, and think is suitable. PLEASE, IF YOU READ THIS AND THINK ABOUT IT.... IF IT MAKES any SENSE: PLEASE FORWARD TO SOMEONE - WHO CAN SEE IF IT WILL WORK. GOD BLESS WE WILL FIND A WAY, IF WE HAVE FAITH AND WORK TOGETHER.
