The ever-controversial Douglas Bruce is making headlines again. This time, the Colorado Springs-based anti-tax activist and former lawmaker has been cited for contempt of court. His alleged crimes are disobeying a court order and obstructing justice after he failed to appear at a campaign-finance proceeding in an administrative court last month, reports The Gazette. A judge has ruled that Bruce had been properly served with an order to appear in the administrative court for a hearing that seeks to determine who is behind three proposed statewide ballot measures. The court has tied Bruce to Amendment 60, Amendment 61, and Proposition 101---proposals that would limit government borrowing, taxes, and fees. The state has attempted to serve Bruce 30 times but has not been able to track him down. Bruce claims he has been traveling and promises to fight the contempt case in court next month, claiming he did nothing wrong. Attorney general spokesman Mike Saccone says the court will seek to serve the latest order to Bruce in person, notes The Colorado Independent.
