Grow Local: Connecting Local Gardeners With a Growing Place

This post is part of Cheap Thrills’ summer series on eating, growing, and knowing more about local food. Want to get involved? Sign Grow Local Colorado’s pledge to support locally grown food. Grow Local Colorado has started a Garden Space Exchange to help connect those looking for a garden with those seeking to share their unused garden space. Garden Space Exchange is essentially a message board for sharing details on the garden you have or the one you're looking for. A variety of spaces were recently available, including a 2,000-square-foot plot with an automatic irrigation system, a smaller garden no longer planted by an elderly couple, and a small front-yard space between the sidewalk and street in Denver's Baker neighborhood. Tip: For those seeking space, it seems helpful to note any expertise or investing you're willing to do. (Want to chip in on water? Specialize in permaculture?)
