When I learned that Bump & Grind, the Uptown coffeeshop and cafe with drag-queen waitresses, was closing up shop, I worried that a mega-chain (Starbucks, Caribou Coffee, Peet's Coffee & Tea) would swoop in to nab a new batch of customers. But my worries were unfounded: Jean-Philippe Failyau, owner of South Pearl Street's Park Burger, already had his eye on the space. Two weeks ago, the spot opened as Park and Co, the grown-up sibling of Park Burger. Expect to find the same burgers (four of Park Burger's eight specialty choices are listed on the menu) and fries, with the addition of salads and appetizers. Especially tasty are the house-made pretzel bread with cheese fondue and mustard and the light and refreshing chilled soba-noodle salad. One dish not to miss is the chocolaty and decadent Snickers bread pudding. Bonus: The full bar includes cocktails created by Adam Hodak, the talented head bar man at Osteria Marco. 439 E. 17th Ave.
