, we may see former Denver Bronco Brandon Marshall join those ranks, perhaps even with the Denver Nuggets.
"There's not going to be any football," says Marshall, who was a star high school basketball player, referring to the looming labor stoppage in the NFL in 2011 (recap via SB Nation Houston
"If there's a lockout, I have to find a job. I figure the Nuggets will be a better choice because of the welcome-home cheer I'll get---a couple boos at first. I'm gonna get with a basketball coach and get to work, prepare for the lockout."
Meanwhile, The Denver Post's Dave Krieger
takes a run at Nuggets front-office strongman Bret Bearup, alleging that the Nuggets are dysfunctional and listless, with the "adviser" holding most of the cards in the team's power structure. Bearup is a friend and confidant to team owner Stan Kroenke and, according to Krieger, is the reason the team will never have a true general manager to make effective decisions and give the team real direction.
