Earlier this month, the Republican Weld County prosecutor running for U.S. Senate elaborated on his stance in detail on KHOW radio, telling host Craig Silverman he is against the procedure even if the pregnancy is the result of a violent assault. Asked if he would create a law to prohibit abortion in cases of rape or incest, Buck replied, "I would favor that position in law. Yes." Buck, who also says marriage should be an institution reserved solely for a man and a woman, recently reaped the endorsement of the Family Research Council Action political-action committee, which hopes to see Democratic Senator Michael Bennet ousted. "I cannot emphasize enough how important it is that we send those who respect faith, family, and freedom to the United States Congress," Tony Perkins, the president of the FRCA, tells LifeNews.com.
