Fashion Week: Ralph Lauren's High-Fashion Western Looks

The iconic designer goes all-out cowboy for spring 2011.

The It Factor for Denver: Denver women don’t need to go far to find Western clothing, but if you’re looking for a high-end alternative, Ralph Lauren is your man. For spring, his fringe-sided suede shorts, leather fringe jackets, and lace and/or crochet blouses and dresses are all perfect additions to the wardrobe of any Western wanna-be.

The Gist of It: Ralph Lauren goes all-out cowboy for spring 2011. Fringe, whipstiching, lace, and ruffles take center stage, along with silver accents by way of concho belts, leather belts with oversized silver buckles, and metallic flourishes. Lauren works day looks in a palette of white, off-white, and sand in a pair of pale shorts paired with a lace blouse and fringed leather jacket; a full-sleeve blouse with a leather whipstitched and tiered fringe skirt; and a series of white lace or crochet dresses.

For evening, there are sweeping tulle skirts, gowns cut in a petite floral print and embellished with lace, beaded skirts with plaid blouses, chiffon gowns in lingerie tones with ruffled hems, and beaded silver and liquid metallic gowns accented with—what else?—Western-style belts.

Who knew you could find

Who knew you could find highly quality Western fashion by looking to Ralph Lauren. The collection that was just released back then fits perfectly within the western theme, and both the designs and materials used are highly appealing.
