"There's a lot of evidence that has still been unexplained over the years," Lawrence Schiller told viewers of CBS’s The Early Show last month, talking about the investigation of the 1996 murder of JonBenét Ramsey. "Footprints have been identified, but some have not. Handprints and palm prints have been identified in the room where her body was found. Some still not. In essence, the body was placed there. It wasn't dragged in. And then it was wrapped in a blanket."

Schiller, who contributes to The Daily Beast and is the author of Perfect Murder, Perfect Town, also claimed police were attempting to contact Burke Ramsey, JonBenét's older brother. Indeed, the Daily Camera reports that Boulder police are seeking to interview Burke, who was nine years old when his six-year-old sister was slain. The new round of interviews is the result of recommendations from an advisory committee that assembled last year to assess the evidence in the case.

"I understand that they met with Burke and gave him a card and said, 'If you want to talk to us, here's how you would contact me,'" says Lin Wood, attorney for the Ramsey family. "But the police have not interviewed Burke."

Burke was cleared in the murder more than a decade ago, and his entire family was exonerated by former District Attorney Mary Lacy in 2008. Boulder police chief Mark Beckner has been mum on the investigation, saying only that additional contacts and interviews are being pursued because some people "may have information pertinent to the case."
