Raven's Tavern: Ideal for a Post-Hike Brew

Every weekend for the last several, I’ve headed to the hills for some fall hiking. Returning from one of these sojourns, a friend and I discovered Raven’s Tavern in Conifer.

Raven’s has an impressive collection of 24 brews on tap, including several Colorado selections from breweries like Tommyknocker, Breckenridge, Odell, and New Belgium.

My top choice for thirst-quenching suds is the White Rascal by Boulder's Avery Brewing. The unfiltered wheat beer is spiced with coriander and orange peel, which imbue the brew with a light, citrusy flavor and aroma. My friend chose Avery’s IPA, a classic, super-hoppy India Pale Ale with a smooth, malty finish.

Eats: If your adventure leaves you hungry, Raven’s offers a full menu of traditional favorites, including burgers, pasta, steaks, and fish and chips.
