The Lunchbox: Pasta Pasta Pasta

Five months ago, Pasta Pasta Pasta relocated from its hard-to-find location at 278 Fillmore St. (now home to the cheerful So Perfect Eats) to the middle of Fillmore Plaza. The polished eatery, which has been a Cherry Creek lunch staple since it opened more than 25 years ago, still serves the same fare: a small selection of fresh salads, sandwiches, pasta dishes, and ever-changing specials. Most recently, offerings included baked salmon, chicken Parmesan, braised brisket, and chicken milanese pounded thinner than a pancake and topped with a fresh sauce of chopped tomatoes and balsamic vinegar.

I tend to stick with the pasta selection, often a dainty portion of tender tortellini, or the baguette-stuffed sandwiches. In either case, choose the green salad as an accompaniment. The simple tangle of sliced romaine topped with shredded carrots and tangy, tarragon-flecked dressing tastes bright and fresh.

Tip: Pasta Pasta Pasta is perenially busy during the lunch hour. Dine before 1 p.m. for the best selection (and the best chance of scoring a table).
