Check It Out: Cuvée Wine Bar

Gone is the Blending Cellar, along with its well-worn space on Boulder's Pearl Street. Now, Cuvée wine bar, which opened just before the New Year, functions in a remodeled room that captures the warmth and charm of an old Parisian-style hideaway: Candlelight flickers through stained-glass candleholders, comfy high-backed chairs are pulled up to the tiny fireplace, and customers cradle glasses of wine while listening to live piano music five nights a week.

Better yet, there's value to be found in the wine selection--from a $17 dollar bottle of BookCliff Vineyards Allegretto made here in Colorado to a 2007 Capitel de’ Roari, Amarone della Valpolicella running only $58.

A limited menu of small plates is offered currently with an expanded menu planned for late March. In the meantime, standouts include Cuvée’s fresh seafood crostini; beautifully baked Brie en croûte with slivered almonds and cranberries; and delicate chocolate soufflé with velvety caramel sauce.
