The Shortest Comeback in NHL History?

Measured in game time, Peter Forsberg's return to the NHL and the Colorado Avalanche lasted just 35 minutes and 10 seconds (via Yahoo! Sports). The Swedish hockey star resigned yesterday afternoon after playing just two games last week. There were hints his comeback was more smoke than fire, and some had noted he hadn't contributed much since. Still, his teammates tell the Denver Post there was no indication Forsberg was planning to quit after Saturday night's loss to the Nashville Predators. "I'm just surprised right now. Caught me a little off guard," says longtime Avs defenseman Adam Foote. "I thought he played really good in the back-to-back.... I guess he just felt like he couldn't physically do it."
