Message to the Denver Broncos: Don't Mess with Marcel Dareus

Most Broncos fans and football observers were stoked when the team landed Texas A&M linebacker Vonn Miller with its second overall pick in the NFL draft last month. But one guy—a very large guy, with an even larger chip on his shoulder—wasn't impressed. Marcel Dareus, a 6-foot-3-inch, 319-pound defensive lineman, thought he'd be the Broncos' first choice. Instead, he went third overall to the Buffalo Bills, and he's promising to make the Broncos regret it.

"I'm going to make it hell for [the Broncos] every time I play against them," Dareus said in a radio interview, adding that he tried to show Denver he was the defensive lineman the team desperately needs (Pro Football Talk). "I work my butt off to do that, and you pass me up still? OK, I've got something for you."

Broncos safety Brian Dawkins took another tack when faced with a draft disappointment, continuing to show leadership and prove his value—even through the offseason (Denver Post). Meanwhile, the lockout persists, and Mile High Report is ranking Denver's great players by jersey number to pass the time. Die-hard fans may recognize some of the names on the list, but they're pretty obscure otherwise.
