Midweek Steal: Twelve's Prix-Fixe Menu

As the name suggests, Twelve Restaurant changes its menu 12 times a year to take advantage of ever-changing seasonal produce. This is reason enough to make regular visits to the Ballpark neighborhood restaurant. But the midweek prix-fixe menu cinches the deal.

On Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday nights, guests can choose any starter, entrée, and dessert on the menu for just $35. On a recent visit, I enjoyed the curried Dungeness crab appetizer, a light-but-layered mix of shellfish, hearts of palm, mango, and avocado; the seared Pacific yellowtail topped with refreshing watermelon and crunchy fennel, and accompanied by lemon-basil couscous; and the comforting peach pain perdu with luscious honey ice cream.

Tip: Try pairing your summery trio with a glass of Infinite Monkey Theorem Rosé, a sweetly acidic and highly food-friendly local wine.
