January Fashion: Editor's Notes

We’ve seen a lot of Internet shopping sites in our day, but the Beach Tomato Shack gets a special callout this month as we gear up for our mid-winter tropical escape. The online retailer focuses on international beach travel, including men's and women’s fashion and beauty—a lifesaver for inspired packing and flaunting our beach bods in the sun. The site even carries hard-to-find labels like Athena Procopiou, Roksanda Ilincic, and Blood is the New Black. Plus, we love the cheeky animal-head models!

Buffalo Exchange, one of Denverites’ favorite resale stores, has moved from Capitol Hill to a larger venue at 51 Broadway (next to Fancy Tiger). But continue to check the Annex—a Buff Exchange offshoot at 226 E. 13th Ave., next door to the store's former space—for an edited selection of new and recycled items.

From blow-dry bars to makeover studios, grooming and beauty spots are popping up all over the metro area faster than we can say “primp and pamper." The newest additions: Fluff Bar (1516 Wazee St., 720-295-3583) and the Powder Room (2845 Wyandot St., 720-440-9256) both offer a full menu of services for women and men. Read about one editor's experience at Fluff Bar here.

That site looks interesting,

That site looks interesting, and I think it can build a solid niche by selling rare brands like Athena Procopiou. By focusing on its niche, it can quickly build up a customer base that trusts its quality of service.
