July is truly one of the oddest months on the fashion calendar. At a time when most people are thinking about barbecues, vacation, and flip-flops, July officially kicks off the fall fashion season. In fact, some stores have already been receiving their pre-fall collections for the last couple weeks. So, in preparation for the onslaught of gorgeous threads and accessories you’ll be seeing for fall 2012, here’s a sneak peek at some of the new lines debuting around town:
LoHi’s Goldyn continues to expand its funky mix of contemporary designers with Lizzie Fortunato Jewels (beautifully crafted statement collars and handbags; pictured, left), local designer Gabriel Conroy’s eco-chic styles, and Pendleton's Portland Collection, a fusion of archival inspired fabrics and fashion-forward design for men and women. shopgoldyn.com
In Boulder, JJWells is going international for fall: Look for Kathy Kamei's contemporary sterling silver and 18-karat gold jewelry from Bali; Brazilian druzy stone jewelry from Marcia Moran; and art-to-wear clothing and accessories from Spanish artist Almeriane, recognized for her poetic use of color. jjwells.com
At Mario Di Leone, expect to find young, hip labels like Blumarine—known for combining sexy Italian silhouettes with bold color and animal print—and Ermanno Scervino’s artfully draped dresses and feminine tailored jackets and outerwear. mariodileone.com
Luxe accessory boutique Vertu is adding new jewelry collections by Laurent Gandini (delicate yet ornate metal chandelier earrings; pictured, right) and Riccardo Goti (edgy, handmade sterling silver necklaces and bracelets), plus ankle-wrap sneakers from CA by Cinzia Araia (pictured, below left). vertu.net
