Get Involved: SaddleUp! Foundation's Suitcase Party

Find yourself daydreaming about taking a private getaway? Here's your chance: Dust off your suitcase for the SaddleUp! Foundation's 2nd Annual SaddleUp! and Pack Your Bags, a Denver Suitcase Party.

The Parker-based nonprofit offers, among other programs, a therapeutic riding center for students with cognitive and physical disabilities. With horses that double as therapists, SaddleUp!'s family-friendly ranch hosts horsemanship and riding lessons. The organization also provides scholarship opportunities to Douglas County residents who are pursuing degrees in horsemanship skills or agriculture.

Get Involved: The Denver Suitcase Party on Friday, August 17 is a fun way to support the cause. Purchase a ticket as if you were selecting your airline seat: business class ($125), general boarding ($150), or first class ($250). Then pack your vacation essentials and throw your luggage in the trunk. The lucky guest who holds the winning raffle ticket (or has the highest bid at the live auction), will be whisked away—with his or her significant other—for a weekend stay at Trinchero Family Vineyards in Napa, California.

Even if you aren't one of the six winners, you'll still enjoy entertainment from pop and country star Jessie James, Cheryl Preheim of 9News, and Jonathon Wilde, morning show host on 92.5 the Wolf. And you'd be wise to arrive with an empty stomach: Sample hors d’oeuvres and beverages from Epicurean Street Cuisine, Tony Rosacci’s Fine Catering, and Del Norte Brewing Co.
