The kegs are finally empty. Another Great American Beer Festival has come and gone, bringing with it more than 2,700 beers to satiate a crowd of 49,000 people. And Colorado has plenty to celebrate. Though our brewing-obsessed state brought home 10 less medals than last year, 15 of our 35 were golds.
The festival may be over, but it's never too late to try a taste of the winners. Some of the highlights:
Sentience, Crooked Stave Artisan Beer Project, Denver
Dry Dock Apricot Blonde, Dry Dock Brewing Co., Aurora
Saison, Funkwerks, Fort Collins
Big Shot Espresso Stout, Twisted Pine Brewing Company, Boulder
NBB Love Felix, New Belgium Brewing, Fort Collins
Face Down Brown, Telluride Brewing Company, Telluride
Irish Red, Glenwood Canyon Brewing Company, Glenwood Springs
