Sweet Stuff: Church of Cupcakes' Sweet Potato Cupcake

For those looking to prolong the Thanksgiving splurge, we recommend Church of Cupcakes’ dreamy sweet potato cupcake with a brown butter buttercream and walnut streusel crunch. Can I get an amen?

Each fall, shop owner Porche Lovely bakes classic pumpkin spice cupcakes with cream cheese frosting. But through the end of the month, she’s also offering sweet potato cupcakes. Pumpkin fans will find this treat similar in flavor (warming hints of nutmeg and cinnamon) but slightly earthier—and in my view, even more addictive. As always, Lovely uses organic and local ingredients.

Keep it easy: Consider serving these treats in lieu of pumpkin pie. Call ahead to place an order.

I just love the sweet potato cupcake here. It definitely has a different taste then most cupcakes. I think this will sell alot. Such a good idea behind this flavor here.
