Casual Eats: Park House

For those evenings when only jeans will do, Park House should rise to the top of your list. Co-owners Drew Gottlieb and Roger Glas opened the “classy but quirky” Colfax spot in October and although the decor is a bit worn, the menu is anything but tired.

Make no mistake: This is bar food, but it’s creative and gussied up. Take the shoestring fries, which are drizzled with aged balsamic reduction and Gorgonzola cream sauce; or the nachos, which can be ordered nine ways (one combination even comes topped with macaroni and cheese). Burgers, too, have their own inspired touches—like roasted Poblanos and chipotle mayo—that punch up the pork-and-beef patties.

Game Day Tip: Pull up a chair to one of the 13 flat screens in the living room-style lounge. Order a plate of pork sliders (pictured), and a cold beer—and don't forget the nachos.
