Beauty: Shimmer & Shine

Shimmer is the perfect complement to holiday fashion, whether you’re looking for a mere touch of sparkle or overall radiance. From metallic accents to face luminizers, these products will freshen up dull winter skin and add a little shine to your evening makeup routine.

I’ve long been a fan of Australian makeup artist Rebecca Morrice Williams Becca Cosmetics line for its sheer, lightweight foundation. Now I’m hooked on her Shimmering Skin Perfector Shimmering Moisturizer in pearl (pictured, right). By adding just a small dab to my foundation, this triple-action powerhouse hydrates, offers 25+ SPF sun protection, and gives my skin a healthy glow.

Eyeliner is a great tool for defining and drawing attention to your peepers, but finding a product without irritating chemicals is important for anyone with sensitive or dry eyes (mine are the latter). That's why I like Jane Iredale’s Liquid Eyeliner in gold (pictured, left). The formula is gentle, and the specially designed brush has a long handle, making it easy to control your lines.

Give your nails a 24-karat makeover courtesy of Orly’s Naughty or Nice Collection. My top pick from this set of festive and flirty lacquers is halo (pictured, above), a pale, shimmering gold accented with glitter flakes.

Get it: $8.50, Sally Beauty and Ulta stores statewide, or orlybeauty.com
